The Bridge Bag is a unique bag in form and function. While the bag might be defined by its striking twin-peak silhouette, these bumps serve an important purpose. Connected by an innovative elasticated bridge, this design maintains the bag’s structure and keeps contents secure, while providing the flexibility to expand when you need to reach inside.
The true ingenuity of the Bridge Bag is the continuous-loop strap system. This design omits conventional adjusting hardware and features a long loop sewn closed through the elastic bridges. Pull the loop long to wear it as a relaxed shoulder bag or a comfortable crossbody bag, or double up the strands to carry it easily as a short handheld tote. Then switch back and forth ins tantly as needed.
Inside the bag, a thoughtful centre divider creates two compartments to keep you organized. The opening is secured with a simple snap or magnetic closure, ensuring the bag maintains a minimalist look emphasizing the sculpted aesthetic without detracting from its practical function.

SUGGESTED FABRIC The Bridge Bag is a versatile project that takes on new personalities depending on your choice of material.
BODY | FACING | POCKET | STRAP (MAIN): Medium-weight fabrics such as cotton canvas, heavy linen, cotton/linen blends, denim, or medium-weight home decor fabrics are ideal. These materials will beautifully emphasize the “twin-peak” silhouette. Waxed canvas is also an excellent option; if used, there is no need to add interfacing to the body.
LINING | DIVIDER (LINING): Light to medium cotton is recommended for the main lining and the internal divider to keep the interior light and manageable. If you p refer a more self-supporting interior, oxford or canvas is a great alternative (no interfacing required if using canvas for the lining).
INTERFACING
To ensure the internal divider and the sculptured arches maintain their integrity, we recommend adding a fusible interfacing of suitable weight to the lining. This is especially important when using lighter fabrics like quilting cotton, as it provides the necessary structure to keep the compartments organized and the bag’s shape well-defined.

At Home (A4/Letter) :
When printing the pattern at home, we offer a 5-page layout.
For your convenience, layer options for each size are included in the pattern, allowing you to print your specific size only. Please ensure that your printer settings are adjusted to a scale of 100% or set to ‘Actual Size’ for accurate printing.
When printing, set the page orientation to Automatic or Landscape. The pattern is drafted in landscape format.
A0 (Copy Shop) Option / Projector Option
We offer both A0 (Copy Shop) and Projector options. You can find the files in their respective folders. For your convenience, layer options for each size are included in the pattern.
